FDC Honolulu or FDC Honolulu is nestled in Honolulu, Hawaii. The facility is a federally owned correctional facility that is home to offenders of Hawaii.
The FDC Honolulu will be closing its doors for the final time on January 31, 2020. The reason for the facility’s closing is because there are no funds to keep the facility running along with making at least $100 million work of repairs to the facility.
All inmates who are in the FDC Honolulu at the time of the closing will be transferred to a different facility.
How to Find Someone in FDC Honolulu
You can locate all of the offenders in the FDC Honolulu by going and using the list of inmates that the Federal Bureau of Prisons provides for you. All you will need is the inmate’s first and last name to search the list.
Sending a Mail/Care Package
All mail and packages that enter the Honolulu Correctional Facility will be opened, read, and checked for outside contraband. If you send contraband to the facility, you will be banned from sending the inmate any more information in the future.
The FDC Honolulu allows you to either send money by mail or use a service such as MoneyGram and Western Union.
If you choose to use a service such as Western Union and MoneyGram please note that there will be a small fee to use the service. But the funds will get into the account of the inmate much faster.
The offenders inside of the FDC Honolulu will be given 300 minutes of talk time from January to October. In the holiday months of November and December, the facility will grant them an extra 100 minutes a month.
All phone conversations will either be recorded or monitored. You are not allowed to use any of your phone features such as three way calling, call waiting, and call forwarding.
With all the changes happening at the FDC Honolulu, you will need to contact the correctional facility directly to see if/when they are allowing visitors on property.
When you have them on the phone, you will also want to ask them any questions pertaining to your visitation trip such as what happens if you are bringing a person under the age of 18, what documentation do you need for everyone in your party, and what can you bring inside the facility.
