The FCI Berlin is also referred to as a minimum satellite prison camp in Berlin, New Hampshire.

The FCI Berlin will be able to house just over 1105 offenders. These offenders here in the FCI Berlin will be required to enroll in either educational programs or have a work assignment.

Inmates will be permitted to work in the facility’s kitchen where they can prepare meats and vegetables for consumption. However, the FCI Berlin also can work as a librarian, mechanics, tutors, carpenters, janitors, and clerks.

However, in the FCI Berlin can also work through the Federal Prison Industries, which gives jobs in a call center, processing patents, and catalog distributions.

The FCI Berlin has many educational courses, these courses will include the following:

  • English as a Second Language

  • Parenting Program

Offenders also have access to the Residential Drug Treatment Program and the popular dog training program.

Offenders can also start their apprenticeship in the horticulture, dental, and cosmetology fields.

The offenders in the FCI Berlin will allow all inmates who are not in the solitary confinement to have access to the telephones. The telephones are in the common areas. They will be available from 7 am to 10 pm.

The phones will cost money to use. The offender can purchase minutes from the commissary.


When you want to visit an offender in the FCI Berlin you will need to come to the facility on Saturdays and Sundays between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm. You can also visit an inmate on a federal observed holiday between 8 am to 3 pm.

The visitation room here at the FCI Berlin can hold up to 570 people. When the room gets full, the first people in the room will be asked to leave to make room for the new visitors.
